National Development and Reform Commission: By 2030, the forest coverage rate in Tibet will reach at least 12.61%

The National Development and Reform Commission issued a notice on the "Tibet Ecological Security Barrier Protection and Construction Plan." The notice stated that by 2030, Tibet's forest coverage rate will reach over 12.61%, the comprehensive vegetation cover in grasslands will exceed 50%, the soil conservation rate will increase to 92.22%, natural protected areas will account for over 1/3 of the total land area in the region, nationally protected species will be effectively protected, the system for the rational and efficient use of natural resources will be further improved, ecological security monitoring, early warning, and risk prevention capabilities will significantly increase, the ecological service functions and stability will continue to strengthen, and the quality of the ecological environment will steadily improve.
