Just ended the London Marathon men's elite group, Sebastien Savi broke away from career-first marathon runner Kipchoge in the final stage, running an astonishing 1 hour, 59 minutes, 30 seconds, breaking Kipchoge's world record and becoming the first athlete in human history to complete a marathon in under two hours. Kipchoge, who won the runner-up, also broke the two-hour mark, finishing in 1 hour, 59 minutes, 41 seconds, creating the best human marathon record in history. Jacob Kipruto won the third place with 2 hours, 00 minutes, 28 seconds, also surpassing Kipchoge's original world record.
