On April 24th, Yisheng Corporation stated during a reception for agencies that in December 2024, due to outbreaks of avian flu in the United States and New Zealand, the import channel for ancestral white-feathered meat chickens in China was interrupted. It wasn't until March 2025 that the company successfully opened a new import channel from France. As a result of the previous import interruption, the import volume in the first quarter of 2025 decreased significantly, with a year-on-year decrease of over 10% for the entire year. The shortage of ancestral breeding chickens will be transmitted to parent breeding chickens after 7 months, so the prices of parent breeding chickens have been increasing monthly since September 2025. Additionally, with an outbreak of avian flu in France at the end of 2025, the domestic import channel was once again interrupted and has not been reopened until now, further exacerbating the tight supply situation. It is expected that the supply of parent breeding chicks will further tighten in the second half of 2026, and the prices of parent breeding chicks are expected to continue to rise.
