US Central Command: Yesterday, the "Sevan" freighter and 19 other "shadow fleet" vessels were jointly sanctioned by the US Department of the Treasury. The reason is that these vessels have long been engaged in activities to transport billions of dollars' worth of Iranian energy, oil, and natural gas products to overseas markets. Earlier today, the USS Pinckney guided missile destroyer of the US Navy deployed helicopter on-board and intercepted the "Sevan" freighter in the Arabian Sea. Currently, the merchant ship has complied with the US military orders and is heading back to Iran under escort. The US military will continue to enforce US sanctions laws and fully implement blockade measures targeting ships entering and leaving Iranian ports. Since the blockade was implemented, 37 vessels have been ordered to change course.
