G7 Environment Ministers meeting calls for financing for ecological protection.
The G7 Environment Ministers' Meeting closed in Paris, France on the 24th. The two-day meeting adopted multiple documents aimed at accelerating action in areas such as financing related to ecological protection, marine protection, addressing water pollution, and land degradation. The French Ministry for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion introduced on its official website on the 24th that, as the rotating presidency, France initiated two initiatives. One is aimed at helping coordinate and strengthen financing for natural protection, conservation, and ecological restoration, especially by mobilizing more voluntary participation from the private sector and charitable organizations. The other is aimed at preventing and reducing exposure risks and vulnerabilities to natural disasters through promoting technical cooperation within the G7 and more broadly. The meeting adopted a series of outcome documents, focusing on establishing a Marine Protected Area Management Alliance to enhance cooperation in effective management of marine protected areas, committing to further deepen cooperation in combating illegal fishing, promoting land and ecosystem protection and restoration, etc.
