The pig farm was rectified due to pollution problems and then moved to another location to discharge waste. Guizhou Liping report.
On April 25th, the Liping branch of the Qiandongnan Prefecture Ecological Environment Bureau reported that the situation of indiscriminate discharge of manure and pollution of the surrounding environment at the Xiniuping pig farm in Gaoxi Village, Bazi Township, Liping County has attracted attention. After the incident, Liping County quickly organized multiple departments and the Bazi Township government to form a joint working group to conduct on-site inspections and disposal. It was found that the overflow of manure from the pig farm was due to the ineffective sealing of the dry manure shed, inadequate anti-seepage measures for the tailwater pool, and the collapse of the manure storage tank. Currently, facilities have been sealed and reinforced, a temporary collection pool has been built, and the manure from the storage tank has been timely transferred to other townships for storage. Previously, it was falsely reported online that "a pig farm in Liping, Guizhou, was found to be discharging sewage again after rectification", which is not true. In reality, in accordance with the requirements of the "Technical Specifications for Returning Livestock and Poultry Manure to the Field", a small amount of low-concentration manure is being transported to pastureland for irrigation and fertilization based on the demands of the local residents. In response to the company's illegal activities, Liping County has established a special task force and initiated an investigation. Currently, the investigation and collection of evidence are being carried out in accordance with the law.
