The former director of the Jiangxi Provincial Health Committee, Gong Jianping, has been expelled from the Communist Party and dismissed from public office.

The website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and National Supervisory Commission reported on April 24 that, according to the Jiangxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, the former party secretary and director of the Jiangxi Provincial Health Commission, Gong Jianping, is under investigation for serious violations of discipline and law. After investigation, Gong Jianping, as a party member and leading cadre, lost his ideals and beliefs, betrayed his original intentions and missions, resisted organizational investigation, engaged in superstition activities; ignored the spirit of the Central Eight-Point Regulation, accepted banquets that could affect the fair execution of official duties; lacked organizational principles, concealed personal information, sought benefits for others and accepted gifts and money in the selection and appointment of cadres; lost his integrity, received gifts and money in violation of regulations; interfered with judicial activities; failed to manage and educate his family; used his position to seek benefits for others in engineering projects and medical business, and illegally accepted huge amounts of money; abused his power, causing significant loss to national interests. Gong Jianping seriously violated the Party's political discipline, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, work discipline, and life discipline, constituting serious illegal conduct and suspected bribery and abuse of power crimes, and has not restrained himself or stopped after the 18th National Congress of the Party. This behavior is serious and has a malignant influence and should be dealt with seriously. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Disciplinary Regulations of the Communist Party of China", the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Administrative Sanctions Law of Public Officials of the People's Republic of China", the Jiangxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection has decided to expel Gong Jianping from the party with the approval of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China; the Jiangxi Provincial Supervisory Commission has decided to remove him from public office, confiscate his illicit gains, and transfer his suspected criminal issues to the prosecution authorities for investigation and prosecution, along with all related assets.
