Hainan: Food delivery rider discovers food safety issues, rewards given after verification.

On April 23, it was learned from the market supervision bureau of Hainan Province that the bureau recently signed a memorandum on the joint governance of food safety in online catering services with third-party platforms such as Taobao Flash Sale, Meituan, and JD Takeout, further strengthening food safety supervision and social collaborative governance, promoting the healthy and orderly development of the online catering service industry. According to the memorandum, the market supervision bureau of Hainan Province and various platforms will build a closed-loop management process around "discovery - verification - reward - improvement". Delivery riders who discover clues to food safety issues during the process of picking up and delivering meals can submit them through special channels provided by the platforms. The platforms will conduct preliminary screening, and valid clues will be promptly transferred to the local market supervision departments for lawful disposal. The platforms that have signed the agreement will reward the relevant delivery riders with the support of special joint governance funds for confirmed clues.
