United Airlines executives said that the company is passing on most of the additional costs brought on by rising fuel prices to customers. Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Nocella told analysts that United Airlines has already raised ticket prices five times in the first quarter to offset the increase in fuel costs. Nocella said that the airline is able to raise ticket prices because of the high loyalty of its customer base. He also stated that when the Iran conflict began and fuel prices rose, market demand was already strong, giving United Airlines confidence in passing on costs to consumers.
