The sand and dust weather warning level is divided into four levels, and a new national standard for meteorological disaster prevention and reduction in two areas has been released.
The State Administration for Market Regulation has approved the release of two national standards in the field of meteorological disaster prevention and reduction, "Sandstorm Weather Warning Level" and "Public Meteorological Disaster Defense Behavior Guidelines - Thunderstorm", further strengthening the resilience of the whole society in meteorological disaster prevention, constructing a perfect national meteorological safety defense line, effectively ensuring the safety of the public's lives and property, and maintaining social security and stability.
The "Sandstorm Weather Warning Level" focuses on the urgent need for prevention of sandstorm weather disasters, revising the contents of warning levels, warning times, and affected areas. It includes sandstorms and dust storms in the warning range, with the warning levels divided into 4 levels, addressing people's concerns about air quality and health impacts, helping to increase the society's attention to desertification control work, and achieving better ecological benefits. With the development level of forecasting technology, the warning lead time has been advanced to 24 hours, helping various departments take the initiative in their work, and improve the emergency response capabilities for sandstorm disasters. Quantitative constraints are imposed on the affected areas of the warning, clarifying the criteria for determining the affected areas of sandstorm weather, avoiding frequent triggering of warnings for small local sandstorm weather, and helping to achieve scientific, orderly, and efficient response to sandstorm disaster.
The "Public Meteorological Disaster Defense Behavior Guidelines - Thunderstorm" focuses on the risk identification and self-prevention needs of the public in response to thunderstorm disasters, stipulating the general principles for the public to respond to thunderstorm disasters, providing suggestions for pre-disaster prevention, in-disaster defense, and post-disaster relief, guiding the public to scientifically and reasonably defend against thunderstorm disasters, and enhancing the public's awareness and self-rescue capabilities in defending against thunderstorm disasters. This standard will provide a unified and scientific standard basis for government departments, industry regulators, community organizations, and related units to carry out public education, emergency drills, post-disaster relief, and other work related to public thunderstorm disaster prevention, promoting further standardization and systematization of meteorological lightning disaster prevention and reduction work.
