Huang Miansong, Deputy General Manager of Pioneer Environmental Group, responded on April 21 that the core technology of aerobic granular sludge has intensive advantages, which can achieve in-situ expansion and transformation of sewage treatment plants without the need for new land acquisition. This can reduce investment, shorten construction period, and simplify the process, resulting in a significant decrease in electricity and chemical consumption. In Haining, Zhejiang, the company has already achieved a 54% decrease in energy consumption in the biochemical section. In April 2026, the project also achieved zero carbon source addition and a decrease in the dosage of phosphorus removal agents, which will greatly contribute to cost savings in annual operation.
