Poland's finance minister rejects the proposal to sell gold reserves to fund military expenses.
According to reports, Polish Finance Minister Andrej Domanski has rejected the proposal to sell central bank gold reserves to fund the military, advocating instead for prioritizing the use of low-interest loans from the European Union rather than tapping into the gold reserves. Domanski told the media, "I strongly disagree with using the illusion of future profits of the central bank to fund the modernization of the Polish army." He stated that any profits from selling foreign exchange reserves could be offset by foreign exchange fluctuations in the current fiscal year, and that the central bank has been operating at a loss recently.
