In March, the gasoline prices in Canada experienced the largest increase ever recorded.
According to a report released by Statistics Canada on Monday, in March, gasoline prices rose by 21.2% compared to the previous month, marking the largest increase on record, due to the conflict in the Middle East leading to a global rise in oil prices. Meanwhile, natural gas prices saw a monthly decline of 18.1%, curbing the upward trend in energy prices. Statistics Canada pointed out that natural gas prices are more affected by North American supplies, "thus having lower sensitivity to global price changes."
