Global crude oil supply recovery may take several years.

The "lifeline" of global energy transportation, the Strait of Hormuz, briefly reopened recently before being closed again. Analysts believe that, with ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz is just one of the obstacles affecting the international oil supply. To fully restore pre-war levels, there are still many hurdles to overcome, which means it may take several months or even years. According to the International Energy Agency, the reserves in the Persian Gulf region's "oil tanks" have exceeded 260 million barrels. The storage pressure has severely affected the production capacity of the region's countries. The next oil shipments will take longer to complete. For example, the round trip time from the Middle East to the west coast of India is about 20 days, and even longer for Japan and South Korea. In addition, due to the blocked navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, a large number of oil tankers are already fulfilling contracts to ship from the Americas, with some journeys taking up to 40 days. All these factors are leading to a shortage of oil tankers.
