Fiber optic prices surge 650%, with more than 200,000 fiber optic related companies in China.

According to industry research data, prices of some special optical fiber varieties have surged by 650% compared to the same period last year, with the production and sales volume of leading enterprises increasing several times year-on-year. The industry's order backlog is scheduled to production until the first quarter of 2027. As of April 20, 2026, there are 201,000 optical fiber-related companies in China; in terms of establishment years, more than 70% of companies were founded in the past 5 years, with the highest proportion (33.2%) being established between 1 and 3 years ago; in terms of registration volume, in the whole year of 2025, China accumulated a total of 31,000 registered optical fiber-related companies. In terms of regional distribution, the East China region had the highest number of registered companies in 2025, accounting for 27.1%, and as of April 20, 2026, China has registered 7,607 optical fiber-related companies.
