The size of the group of in-depth readers continues to expand. The results of the 23rd National Survey on the Reading Habits of Chinese Citizens have been released.

In 2025, the overall reading rate of Chinese adult citizens, including books, newspapers, periodicals, and digital publications, reached 82.3%, an increase of 0.2 percentage points from 82.1% in 2024. The book reading rate of adult citizens was 60.0%, an increase of 0.1 percentage points from 59.9% in 2024; the contact rate of digital reading methods was 80.8%, an increase of 0.2 percentage points from 80.6% in 2024.
