United Nations Secretary-General Guterres issued a statement on the 18th strongly condemning the attack in Lebanon that caused the death of UN peacekeepers from France. The statement said that this was the third incident in recent weeks that led to the death of UN peacekeepers from the UN Interim Force in Lebanon. The Secretary-General urged all parties to respect the decision to stop hostilities, immediately cease fire, and once again called on all parties to fulfill their obligations under international law to ensure the safety of UN personnel and the protection of UN property and assets.
