German Railways plans to invest 20 billion euros to renovate train stations.
The CEO of Deutsche Bahn, Evelin Paar, announced plans to invest 4 billion euros annually to renovate a batch of train stations by the year 2030. According to a report by the German Funke media group on the 18th, Paar stated, "In the next 5 years, we will invest a total of over 20 billion euros. We clearly need to catch up." As reported by Xinhua News Agency, Deutsche Bahn plans to modernize over 1,000 train stations by 2026, with an additional 710 stations undergoing extensive renovations by the end of 2030, including the renovation of 130 stations starting this year. The projects mainly focus on improving the appearance, safety, and cleanliness of the stations. Deutsche Bahn is also collaborating with the German police to install surveillance systems at the stations.
