The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the rebel group "M23 Movement" issued a joint statement on the 17th, stating that progress has been made in the new round of dialogue on humanitarian access, the launch of ceasefire monitoring and verification mechanisms, and the release of detainees. According to the joint statement, the two sides held talks in Montreux, Switzerland from the 13th to the 17th, as part of the implementation of the framework agreement signed in Doha, Qatar in November 2025, with the goal of promoting a comprehensive peace agreement.
