Ding Xuexiang visits Turkmenistan as a special representative of President Xi Jinping, attends the groundbreaking ceremony of the fourth phase project of the Galkynysh Gas Field, and holds the seventh meeting of the China-Turkmenistan Cooperation Committee.

From April 15th to 17th, President Xi Jinping's special representative, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and Vice Premier of the State Council, Ding Xuexiang, went to Turkmenistan to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of the fourth phase of the Galkynysh gas field project. He met with Turkmenistan national leader and Chairman of the People's Council, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and jointly chaired the seventh meeting of the China-Turkmenistan Cooperation Committee with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meredov. Ding Xuexiang and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the fourth phase of the Galkynysh gas field project together. Ding Xuexiang stated that the construction of the fourth phase of the Galkynysh gas field project carries the earnest expectations of the leaders of both countries and represents the common aspiration of the Chinese and Turkmen peoples. It will inevitably promote further progress in energy cooperation between the two sides. We must adhere to quality as the foundation and create high-quality projects, push forward construction with high standards; insist on innovation leading the way and create benchmark projects, to provide experience and demonstration for the construction of major natural gas projects; adhere to win-win cooperation and build friendship projects, creating another monument to promote friendship between China and Turkmenistan.
