Tesla (TSLA.O) is reportedly set to launch a six-seater version of the Model Y in India as soon as next week. This model, with a long wheelbase and six seats, will be Tesla's first new product in the Indian market. The new car will be exported from the Shanghai factory. This move aims to boost sales in India, where importing cars faces tariffs of 70% to 110%. According to official vehicle registration data in India, Tesla only registered 227 cars in the country in the whole year of 2025.
