Although there are concerns about LNG supply, the price of natural gas in Europe is expected to fall this week.
Although concerns remain about interruptions in the supply of liquefied natural gas in the Middle East, European natural gas prices are still expected to fall by over 4% this week. Analysts at ANZ Bank said, "The region competes with Asia in terms of LNG shipments, as more imports are now needed to replenish depleted natural gas stocks. Forecasts for a drop in temperatures in northwestern Europe are temporarily supporting fuel demand and slowing the pace of stockpiling." In early trading, the Dutch TTF benchmark futures contract fell 1.6% to 41.74 euros per megawatt hour as optimism about negotiations between the US and Iran and a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon eased concerns about long-term conflicts.
