Trump then directed Pompeo to call Lebanese President Aoun. In a late-night call on Wednesday, Pompeo facilitated the Lebanese side agreeing to the ceasefire. The White House stated that the U.S. State Department cooperated with relevant governments throughout the process and drafted a ceasefire memorandum of understanding. The State Department released a six-point statement that outlined the ceasefire terms and stated that Israel and Lebanon had agreed to them.
