Report: Trump's energy chief to hold conference call with various CEOs on the US-Iran war.
A government official stated that as the US-Iran conflict has pushed up global energy prices, the heads of the US Department of Interior and Department of Energy will hold a conference call with CEOs of energy companies including ExxonMobil and Chevron to discuss the potential to increase oil and gas production. The conference call is organized by the White House, which is the location of the "National Energy Sovereignty Council". The council was established by President Trump and is led by Secretary of Interior Doug Bourn and Secretary of Energy Chris Wright. Current energy prices are rising to levels seen after the 2022 Russia-Ukraine conflict, posing a risk for the Republican Party, which President Trump belongs to, in the midterm elections in November.
