The tools for mutual connection and communication continue to enrich, and public funds are vigorously expanding their layout in the Hong Kong market ETF.
The Hong Kong Stock Exchange recently announced the addition of two new technology indexes to its index series - the Hong Kong Stock Exchange/Korea Stock Exchange Semiconductor Index and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Technology and US Technology 100 Index. Five mainland public funds' overseas subsidiaries have been authorized to use these indexes and will launch related ETF products on the Hong Kong stock market. According to the principles for compiling these new technology indexes, the related ETF products may be included in the Stock Connect ETF category after they are listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. It is worth noting that in recent years, there has been a clear trend of mainland public fund institutions focusing on the Hong Kong market ETFs. In 2025, the number of ETFs listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange reached a record high, with over half being products of mainland public fund's overseas subsidiaries. This year, over 70% of the newly listed ETFs fall under this category.
