On April 15th, according to the latest preliminary data released by IDC in the "Global Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracking Report", in the first quarter of 2026, global smartphone shipments decreased by 4.1% year-on-year to 289.7 million units. This breaks the continuous growth trend in the market for ten consecutive quarters since mid-2023. The agency predicts that the slowdown in the first quarter is just a mild precursor to the situation for the whole year of 2026, as storage-related supply constraints and price increases will further inhibit market growth.
