Overseas institutions have issued over 102.2 billion yuan worth of panda bonds this year.

Panda bonds are an important channel for China's promotion of opening up its bond market to foreign investors. Since the beginning of this year, the issuance of Panda bonds has significantly increased. Against this background, many securities firms actively seized business opportunities and strengthened their efforts in underwriting, market-making, and other business aspects of Panda bonds. According to Wind Information data, as of April 14th this year, overseas institutions have issued a total of 52 Panda bonds with a total issuance volume of 102.235 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 91.81%; the outstanding amount of Panda bonds has reached 499.729 billion RMB, an increase of 37.64% compared to the same period last year.
