OpenAI allows specific users access to a new model that is better at discovering software security vulnerabilities. Just a week ago, competitor Anthropic PBC announced a limited release of their artificial intelligence tool, Mythos. The ChatGPT developer said on Tuesday that they have started rolling out the GPT-5.4-Cyber model, which aims to identify issues in software for organizations to address. OpenAI stated that this model has fewer restrictions on user detection methods when used for such tasks. The model will be provided to some participants in OpenAI's "Trusted Access to Cybersecurity" project, which was launched in February to allow certain customers and cybersecurity professionals to test the company's most powerful products. OpenAI plans to expand the scope of participation in this early access program, starting with hundreds of users testing the new model and eventually expanding to thousands in the coming weeks.
