Israeli and Lebanese government representatives hold talks in the United States.
On the morning of the 14th of East Coast time in the United States, the Lebanese ambassador to the United States and the Israeli ambassador to the United States began face-to-face talks at the US State Department. The talks were chaired by US Secretary of State Rubio. Rubio stated that the purpose of the talks is to "completely end Hezbollah's influence in the region, which has lasted for twenty to thirty years." Rubio said that in the talks, all complex issues cannot be resolved in the next six hours, but they can start moving forward and establish their framework. Prior to the negotiations, Lebanese President Aoun and the Lebanese ambassador to the United States had a phone call. During the call, Aoun reiterated his instructions to the ambassador, especially regarding Lebanon's firm position on reaching a ceasefire.
