According to the US media SemiAccurate, Nvidia (NVDA.O) is in negotiations to acquire a major personal computer (PC) manufacturer. The media reported that Nvidia has been in negotiations for over a year trying to acquire a "large company" that could "redefine the PC industry." Although the target was not named, investors immediately pointed to Dell and HP - the second and third largest PC manufacturers in the world with global market shares of 17% and 19% respectively. Shares of Dell (DELL.N) and HP (HPQ.N) surged on the rumors. However, a spokesperson for Nvidia (NVDA.O) denied after hours that they were in acquisition talks with PC manufacturers.
