Four people died in an accident at a hydropower station in Fuling, Chongqing.

The Emergency Management Bureau of Fuling District, Chongqing City, issued a situation report today. The report is as follows: At 9:05 on April 12, 2026, the pressure steel pipe of the water diversion generating unit of the Qingyundong Hydropower Station under the Chongqing Xingfu Power Development Co., Ltd. suddenly burst, causing water to gush out and triggering an accident, resulting in 2 deaths and 2 people missing. After the accident, relevant units quickly carried out emergency rescue work. As of around 18:50 on April 12, the missing persons have been found and confirmed to have no vital signs. Currently, the follow-up work is being carried out orderly, and the accident investigation has been initiated.
