Morocco launches safeguard investigation into the import of rice.

The Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Announcement No. DDC/04/2026, stating that, in response to the application from Moroccan producers MLAH MECHICH ALAMI and MUNDIRIZ, a safeguard investigation on imports of rice will be initiated from April 13, 2026. The products involved include white rice and brown rice, under Moroccan tariff numbers 1006.30.10.00 and 1006.30.90.00, excluding fragrant rice. The final ruling is expected to be made within 9 to 12 months from the date of initiation of the investigation.
