The Hungarian Parliament elections have started voting.

On the morning of April 12th, local time, the official voting for the Hungarian 2026 parliamentary elections began. According to data from the Hungarian National Election Office, the number of voters exceeds 8.11 million. According to regulations, voters can complete their voting before 7 p.m. that evening. Preliminary election results are expected to be announced that evening. Hungarian election law stipulates that parliamentary elections are held every four years. The Hungarian Parliament has a total of 199 seats, with 106 seats directly elected through individual constituencies, and the remaining 93 seats allocated to parties that enter the parliament. Based on the election results, the prime ministerial candidate nominated by the majority party or party alliance in the new parliament will become the new government's prime minister.
