According to the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, a federal judge on Friday blocked Arizona from pursuing criminal charges against the prediction market Kalshi, which the commission had filed a lawsuit aiming to prevent states from regulating the industry. The CFTC announced this ruling in a press release following a hearing in Arizona before US District Judge Michael Liburdi. The agency stated that the court approved their request for a temporary restraining order, prohibiting the state from continuing to bring criminal charges against designated contract markets regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
