Brazilian pulp giant Suzano said that if the US and Israel's war against Iran continues, the prices of global toilet paper, tissues, and diapers will increase. With rising costs of transportation and chemicals, companies in the industry are seeking to pass on these high expenses. Paulo Leime, Regional Director for Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Suzano, said, "There is no doubt that the costs of the entire system and value chain are increasing... This will undoubtedly put pressure on paper prices. If this crisis continues... inflation will once again affect a variety of products, not just paper and tissues." The US-Iran war has caused oil prices to soar, increasing Suzano's costs for shipping, trucking, railway transportation, and chemical procurement.
