On the afternoon of April 10, the Shanghai Pudong New Area Service Trade High-Quality Development Promotion Conference was held. The first systematic three-year plan for service trade in Pudong - the "Pudong New Area Three-Year Action Plan to Promote High-Quality Development of Service Trade" was officially unveiled. The plan specifies that by 2028, the scale of service trade in the entire region should exceed 140 billion US dollars, the total amount of digital trade should exceed 70 billion US dollars, and there should be more than 10 service trade companies with annual revenue exceeding one billion. In recent years, service trade in Pudong New Area has been steadily increasing. In 2025, the total import and export volume of service trade in Pudong reached 121.02 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%, accounting for over 50% of the city's total. In the next step, Pudong will focus on six dimensions: institutional opening-up, factor flow, key areas, main carriers, development environment, and support system, striving to achieve new breakthroughs in deep institutional innovation, cultivation of high-end functions, and ecological coordination, and promote service trade to achieve "acceleration" and "high quality" transformation. In addition, in creating a development environment with global competitiveness, Pudong New Area will strengthen financial service support, leverage the function of exhibition trade promotion, implement various measures to optimize the business environment, and improve support in overseas service.
