With the escalating supply risks, Singapore and Cambodia signed a food security cooperation agreement.
Singapore's Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Grace Fu, announced on Friday in a Facebook post that Singapore has signed a memorandum of understanding on food security cooperation with Cambodia's Minister of Commerce, Cham Nimul. This agreement is the third of its kind signed by Singapore, following similar agreements reached with Vietnam and Thailand last year. Grace Fu said, "Changes in geopolitical dynamics could exacerbate the risk of global food supply disruptions, recent events have confirmed this. In this situation, strengthening partnerships with like-minded countries becomes even more critical in enhancing our collective resilience against risks."
