The National Immigration Administration reported today that in the first quarter of 2026, efforts were made nationwide to crack down on illegal activities in the field of immigration management. A total of 5507 cases of crimes obstructing border management were investigated, 10487 criminal suspects were arrested, 67 criminal gangs were dismantled, and 37 major cases were prioritized for investigation. Illegal activities such as firearms, explosives, drug trafficking, and smuggling at ports and borders were strictly cracked down on according to the law, resulting in the resolution of 109 drug cases, the arrest of 172 criminal suspects, the seizure of approximately 1.5 tons of various drugs, and the resolution of 16 cases involving more than ten thousand grams of drugs. A total of 342 firearms and over 13,000 rounds of ammunition were confiscated.
