Foreign-owned sole securities firms or new Japanese shareholders received 49% of Daiwa Securities' equity.
The Beijing Property Rights Exchange shows that the total of 49% equity of Daiwa Securities Group Co., Ltd. was transferred by agreement, with a transaction amount of 706 million yuan. Daiwa Securities is a Sino-Japanese joint venture securities firm, with Daiwa Securities Group Co., Ltd. being the Japanese shareholder holding a 51% stake. The Chinese shareholders are Beijing Xicheng Capital Holdings Co., Ltd. and Beijing State-owned Capital Operation and Management Co., Ltd., holding 16% and 33% equity respectively. In February 2026, the two Chinese shareholders will bundle and transfer the Daiwa Securities equity they hold. After this successful transaction, it means that Daiwa Securities will transform into a wholly foreign-owned securities firm.
