By 2025, the total GDP of national high-tech zone parks will exceed 20 trillion yuan.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the total number of national high-tech zones in China has reached 179, becoming an important carrier for the deep integration of scientific and industrial innovation and the main battlefield for the development of high-tech industries. By 2025, the national high-tech zones are expected to achieve a total park production value of 20.4 trillion yuan, accounting for 14.5% of the national GDP. Data shows that by 2025, the industrial value added of national high-tech zones will exceed 10 trillion yuan, accounting for 24.1% of the national total. The scale of imports and exports will maintain steady growth, with total trade volume reaching 9.8 trillion yuan. Preliminary statistics show that in 2025, the total profits of industrial enterprises above designated size in national high-tech zones increased by 10.2% year-on-year, which is 9.6 percentage points higher than the national average. The number of newly registered enterprises in 2025 reached 1.2 million, and the number of "small giant" enterprises specializing in high-tech and new industries increased by about 20% year-on-year. Internal R&D expenditures of enterprises in national high-tech zones are expected to reach around 1.2 trillion yuan, an increase of approximately 30% from the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan period; the number of invention patents granted to enterprises is expected to reach 2.2 million, doubling from the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan period.
