The Asian Development Bank released the "Asian Development Outlook 2026" report on April 10, stating that the Middle East conflict is escalating global geopolitical risks, and the economic downturn risks facing the economies in the Asia-Pacific region are gradually increasing. The ADB predicts that if the situation in the Middle East stabilizes earlier, the economic growth rates of economies in the Asia-Pacific region will slow down from 5.4% in 2025 to 5.1% in 2026 and 2027, with inflation rising from 3.0% in 2025 to 3.6% in 2026 and 3.4% in 2027. The report points out that if the chaotic situation in the Middle East continues until the third quarter of this year, the economic growth rates of economies in the Asia-Pacific region in 2026 and 2027 could slow down to 4.7% and 4.8%, respectively, with inflation rising to 5.6% in 2026. The Asian Development Bank, a multilateral development bank focusing on development in the Asia-Pacific region, was established in 1966 with its headquarters in Manila, Philippines. The "Asian Development Outlook" is the ADB's flagship annual economic report that provides forecasts for economic development in the Asia-Pacific region.
