Amazon CEO said that Amazon Web Services is still facing computational power limitations.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy stated in his letter to shareholders that Amazon Web Services is growing rapidly, but its growth could have been even faster if it weren't for "compute capacity constraints that result in unmet demand." He mentioned that two AWS customers have requested to purchase all of Amazon's custom CPU chip Graviton instances' compute capacity for 2026. Jassy said, "Considering the needs of other customers, we cannot agree to these requests, but this gives you a sense of the strong demand." Amazon Web Services added 3.9 gigawatts of new power capacity in 2025 and expects to double its compute capacity by the end of 2027.
