Investigation report of major fire accident in Sanming, Fujian, "331" resulted in 5 deaths and 6 injuries being released.

The investigation report on the major fire accident of the smart cold chain logistics facility construction project for pork products of Fujian Sanming Mingyou Food Co., Ltd. was announced on "3.31". On the 9th, it was learned from the Fujian Provincial Emergency Management Department that the accident resulted in 5 deaths and 6 injuries, and 5 persons responsible were suggested to be transferred to the judicial authorities for handling. On March 31, 2025, a fire broke out in the smart cold chain logistics facility construction project for pork products of Mingyou Food Co., Ltd. located in Sanyuan District, Sanming City, resulting in 5 deaths and 6 injuries, with a fire area of approximately 4500 square meters. The investigation report by the accident investigation team of the Fujian Provincial People's Government concluded that the accident was a major production safety accident caused by issues such as the lack of safety responsibility of the construction unit, failure to apply for construction decoration and other engineering construction permits in accordance with laws and regulations, use of thermal insulation materials products that do not meet the normative requirements for flammability, unauthorized removal and cutting of smoke exhaust pipes, unauthorized removal of fire protection facilities, inadequate safety protection measures, and inadequate initial firefighting response, as well as inadequate safety supervision by local government departments.
