Ares hired the former head of Goldman Sachs' China division to serve as the head of credit business in Asia.

Ares Management Company stated that they have hired former Goldman Sachs banker E.G. Morse as a partner and head of Asian credit business, as the company continues to strengthen its global leadership team. According to a statement released by Ares on Thursday, Morse will be based in Hong Kong, taking over from the current Asian credit head Edwin Wong, who will retire at the end of June. Ares also appointed partners Dinesh Goel and Gabriel Fong as co-heads of Asian special situations strategy. Peter Graf, based in Sydney, will continue to be responsible for the company's direct lending strategy in the region.
