BYD plans to set up 20 sales outlets in Canada to promote global expansion.

BYD will open about 20 sales outlets in Canada this year with partners. Alfredo Altavilla, a former executive at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and now a consultant for BYD Europe, said in Paris, France, "We have taken immediate action to establish a sales network locally." Last month, BYD said it was actively considering building a factory in Canada, while also not ruling out acquiring a more mature global car manufacturer. The company is also continuing to expand in Europe, positioning itself among many Chinese brands that are achieving sales growth with more competitively priced electric and plug-in hybrid models.
