Sinochem Lantian: Non-flammable electrolyte technology will be prioritized for applications such as electric bicycles.
On April 8th, regarding the latest achievement in the field of sodium batteries in China - the application of "aggregatable non-flammable electrolytes", China Hai Sodium responded to Interface News saying that the timetable for mass production of this technology is currently uncertain. The company is advancing related work and in the future, this technology will be prioritized in applications such as electric bicycles. China Hai Sodium also pointed out that the material cost of PNE is basically on par with the current mainstream carbonate electrolyte systems, and the process is compatible with existing battery production lines, without bringing additional manufacturing cost pressures. China Hai Sodium stated that PNE technology achieves complete prevention of thermal runaway in ampere-hour class sodium ion batteries, providing direction for future technological development and laying the foundation for large-scale, high-security commercial applications in energy storage and heavy-duty vehicles. From the feedback of downstream customers, this breakthrough technology has enhanced customer confidence in sodium battery solutions.
