Today, reporters learned that the State Administration for Market Regulation recently drafted the "Announcement of the State Administration for Market Regulation on Strictly Prohibiting the Use of 'Freshness Lamps'", and is now seeking public opinions. According to the Consumer Rights Protection Law of the People's Republic of China and the Measures for the Supervision and Management of the Quality and Safety of Edible Agricultural Products Market, consumers have the right to know the true conditions of the goods they purchase or the services they receive, and sellers of fresh edible agricultural products are not allowed to use lighting facilities that cause obvious changes in the true color and other sensory characteristics of edible agricultural products, misleading consumers' perception of the products. Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation has found that some market sellers are still using specific light sources and lighting facilities to beautify the color of meat, vegetables, fruits and other fresh edible agricultural products, deceiving consumers and disrupting the market order, endangering food safety.
