A major breakthrough has been made in China's research on sodium-ion batteries, which can prevent thermal runaway.
Reporters learned from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences that the research team led by Researcher Hu Yongsheng recently achieved for the first time "heat-free runaway" in a sodium-ion battery at the hour level. They successfully developed a non-flammable electrolyte with self-protective function, breaking through the core bottleneck of safety in new energy batteries. This will promote the commercial application of sodium-ion batteries. The achievement was recently published in the international academic journal "Nature Energy".
