Locking in the global "top echelon," China is accelerating the cultivation of the space computing power industry ecology.
On April 7, according to the official WeChat account of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China will accelerate the cultivation of the space computing industry ecosystem. On that day, A-share commercial aerospace concept stocks rose and then fell, with the sector showing a trend of differentiation. Zhao Ce, deputy director of the Information and Communication Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated at the 2026 Space Computing Industry Conference that the current global new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation is deepening, with breakthroughs in frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence and aerospace accelerating. Future industrial layout has become the focus of competition among countries. In recent years, China has gradually carried out the construction and pilot verification of space computing networks, accelerating technological breakthroughs such as onboard intelligent computing chips and inter-satellite laser communication. Multiple constellation network plans have been carried out orderly, experimental satellites have been verified in orbit, and the steady deployment of large models in orbit is progressing. Xie Lina, deputy director of the Data Center Department of the Cloud Computing Institute of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, stated that satellite computing can achieve global seamless coverage through laser communication networking, processing data directly in orbit, compressing the data processing time for scenarios such as disaster warning and resource monitoring from hours to seconds, which cannot be achieved by ground computing. She stated that China is currently the first country to achieve the in-orbit networking operation of the space computing constellation, and has taken the lead in engineering practice and commercial landing speed, placing it in the global "top tier" in the space computing industry.
