3413 meters: China's polar ice drilling breaks the record for the deepest international hot water drilling.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Chinese 42nd Antarctic Research Expedition Team has successfully completed China's first Antarctic ice sheet hot water drilling experiment. The drilling reached a depth of 3413 meters, breaking the previous international record of 2540 meters for polar hot water drilling.
